Meet the JELC Staff
The Rev. George Stanley Steele, Pastor
I am a southern by birth who has lived in the northeast for 42 years which my relatives in the south believe makes me more of a northerner at this point. I love the food, people, beaches, sports and openness of the south. I have also come to enjoy the food of this area especially Italian food! I support all Philadelphia teams, as well as the Baltimore Ravens. I like the Jersey Shore although the ocean is always to cold for my taste and I also have come to appreciate the openness of folks here. my wife Stephanie and I are first time grandparents of a beautiful baby girl. Stephanie my wife is a Lutheran Pastor who is chaplain to two retirement communities in Maryland. I have a brother and cousins in South Carolina, my home state where I also attended the University of South Carolina – go Gamecocks!!
Mr. David Crist
Director of Music
David Crist has served as Director of Music at Jerusalem since October 2004. He was raised in the area and graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, with prior studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. In addition to leading the music ministries of Jerusalem Church, he teaches piano lessons at the church and at George’s Music in Spring City.
Ms. Glenda Ortiz
Parish Secretary
I have been a resident of Schwenksville for 18years and member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church since 2010. I have been Parish Secretary for 7 Years. I have 4 wonderful children from ages 31 years old to 14 years old. I have two dogs and 3 birds. I also have been teaching Sunday School for 10 years. I love beach days, sunrises and sunsets. I love our church family, seeing the youth from our church grow throughout the years, but most importantly I love been part of Jerusalem’s church family and history, and share the Gospel of Jesus and God’s love with others.
